Stray è un drama thriller diretto da Nena Eskridge interpret dalla splendida Gabrielle Stone. Una bella scoperta, con un'ottima cinematografia ed una storia che, se ben capita, lascia notevolmente interessati a vedere il film fino alla fine.
La trama è interessante. Jennifer Davis ha un vuoto dentro, la mancanza di una famiglia le fa commettere atroci delitti. Non chiede altro se non una famiglia. Ed è per questo che lei commette dei crimini.
L'aspetto psicologico è molto importante nel film di Eskridge, perchè riesce a fornire un rilievo caratteristico alla giovane Gabrielle Stone. Non possiamo categorizzare il film tra gli horror, siamo sostanzialmente a metà tra il drammatico e il thriller con picchi di violenza durante alcune scene.
Ma niente splatter. Aspettatevi un film che vuole indagare sulla coscienza della protagonista che farà di tutto per ottenere ciò che desidera: la famiglia.
Un pò un'esigenza primordiale, quella di avere un gruppo, farne parte ed essere accettata.
Cinematograficamente il lavoro di Nena è buono, nessun errore eclatante ed anche una morale alla fine del film. Insomma un film ben fatto che forse avrebbe potuto avere qualche spunto in più per offrire allo spettatore un prodotto nuovo. Ma forse l'attenzione è stata spostata solo sugli aspetti interiori della protagonista.
La famiglia è sempre la famiglia, si potrebbe uccidere per salvaguardarla.

Stray is a drama thriller directed by Nena Eskridge played by the wonderful Gabrielle Stone. A beautiful discovery, with an excellent cinematography and a story that, if well understood, leaves considerably interested in seeing the film until the end.
The plot is interesting. Jennifer Davis has an emptiness inside, the lack of a family makes her commit atrocious crimes. He asks for nothing but a family. And that's why she commits crimes.
The psychological aspect is very important in the Eskridge film, because it manages to provide a characteristic relief to the young Gabrielle Stone. We can not categorize the film among the horror, we are basically halfway between the dramatic and the thriller with peaks of violence during some scenes.
But nothing splatter. Expect a film that wants to investigate the conscience of the protagonist who will do everything to get what he wants: the family.
A bit of a primordial need, to have a group, to be part of it and to be accepted.
Cinematographically, Nena's work is good, no glaring error and even a moral at the end of the film. In short, a well-made film that perhaps could have had more ideas to offer the viewer a new product. But perhaps the focus has been shifted only on the inner aspects of the protagonist.
The family is always the family, it could be killed to protect it.
